About/Contact
Welcome to Ontario Shade Gardener, a site created to help take the mystery out of gardening in the shade! Follow along as I document the creation and upkeep of what I refer to as the ‘Shaded Walk,’ a narrow but long shade sanctuary created in that ‘unused’ space between two houses.
WHATS NEW:
In the coming months you will find an alphabetical listing of all of the plants that I have successfully grown, and wherever possible, these listings will be accompanied by an actual garden photograph. ( No more falling prey to Photoshop ID tags) This information will be located under the heading Shady Characters: Rare and Choice Shade Perennials. Read a brief history of my garden under Teza’s Garden and then follow along under Teza’s Garden Diary - a visual and written word diary of happenings during the growing season. There will be a Resource Material section where viewers will find a comprehensive listing of books and websites that will help to provide the knowledge and know how in order to create a shade garden sanctuary. Under Guest Garden Tours you can visit some of my personal favourite shade gardens and meet the wonderful garden friends who create them! Find That Plant is an alphabetical listing of the plants that grow in Teza’s Garden. Each listing will include habitat, soil and light/shade requirements and whenever possible will include an actual garden photograph.
